Match Report

On a brand new Tianma pitch that now lacks housing and proper toilet facilities, Mother Nature wanted to kick the season off with a good start and allowed the weather to get warmer just for the weekend. The match started with 3U pushing hard in Sauerkraut territory for 20 minutes, getting many opportunities but never taking advantage of the situation. The Sauerkrauts were relentless in there breakaways but were also unable to put one in the net. The first goal came from a beautiful cross by Nick Law from the right corner placed perfectly between the keeper and defender allowing Henrik Storm to blast a powerful header into the goal. Etienne Bernhardt of 3U, followed up 10 minutes later with a run from the left wing placing a well timed ball on the ground past the keeper. The second half saw many chances for both sides resulting in 2 more goals for 3United (Nick Law and Matthias Schad) and a overhead shot by Julien Walemme missing the goal only by 2 or 3 centimeters. The Sauerkrauts kept the pressure on the entire game with a few very close chances but unluckily were unable to put anything by Joren Bredman in goal. David Lazarowicz and Nick Law both finished the day with a pair of assists each. Final score: Sauerkrauts: 0, 3United: 4.
