Match Report

In a battle for the 2nd spot in the league, going into the final few weeks before league end, 3United faced the Vikings for the second time this season.

The play was on at 100% from the first whistle, seeing 3United launch an assault of attacks in the first 25 minutes but without any balls finding the back of the net. In the next 15 minutes, the Vikings found their stride and launched their own offensives against the 3United defense but also amounted to zilch on the scoreboard. 3United pushed again in the last 5 minutes seeing a few shots go wide of the posts but before a score could be made, the whistle to end the half was blown.

The first 20 minutes of the second half saw no dip in energy from either side – each seeing about equal ball possession. At about the 70th minute, 3United made a few passing errors allowing the Viking offense to launch a counterattack and put the ball past the outstretched feet of Sergio Parla, 3United keeper. The Vikings played with vigor after the goal was scored but 3U’s Alvaro Roca was able to step up and even the score line at 1. His powered shot was placed on goal but was further deflected by a defender into the bottom corner to bring 3U back into the game. Both sides were striving for a winner for the last 15 minutes but the defenses on both side were able to eliminate all threats on goal. The game finished 1-1.
