In the last game week of 2015, 3United took on the newly reformed Longtang. 3United was looking to end the year strong and keep their undefeated streak going into 2016 while Longtang was hoping for a few points to move them out of the bottom side of the table.

On another muddy Saturday, it took the teams a few minutes to get their footing, physically and mentally, before the game found it’s intensity. The game settled into a rhythm where 3United dominated possession and Longtang would push on the counter. After a scoreless 30 minutes, it was 3United who was able to score first. Nick Law was fouled at the top of the box and awarded a free kick. He then preceded to place a well placed dipping shot over the wall, right under the bar of the middle of the goal. It went past the diving keeper’s hands for the 1-0. Longtang’s chances were scarce and few but they were awarded a free kick outside the box in 3U’s half off a debatable foul. Longtang did take advantage of the situation and blasted a shot off their own offender’s head which deflected in a loopy arc that found the back of the net. 3United, however, was unable to put away a second goal despite having a handful of chances and the half ended as a 1-1 draw.

In the second half, 3United regained their dominance but again had trouble stringing together a dangerous shot in the Longtang box. 3U was finally able to break the dry spell off a corner, seeing a quick corner from Kris Goj who found Alejandro Verni near the edge of the box. He played some quick one touch passing with Lusimi Ramos allowing Ramos to get open on goal who then buried it pass the keeper. Both teams played with urgency in the remaining minutes of the half, each trying to get another goal but the defenses prevailed with the final score 2-1, to 3United.
