After the opening tournament last Saturday was the time for another big club tradition: the jersey party for the new season, which took place at our new home in Shanghai, the Limbo bar on Yan’an Lu.

Following an ancient tradition, a small committee of selected and somewhat creative minds sat together over the summer in order to come up with some suitable name for each and every player. These names can never be chosen by a player for himself, and one will have to wear that name on the field for the following season, even if it refers to the weirdest habits, some misperceived heritage (who is your favorite Mexican on the team?) or a cat instead of a number for three years. Saturday was the day when the curtain was lifted and everyone received his new jersey. After a fun presentation ceremony, a lot of beers and way too many Jägermeister shots we also engaged in Limbo’s Limbo competition, where we found some suprise talents who can descend to levels lower than anybody could have imagined. It was another epic night and we cannot wait to wear our new jerseys on the footbal pitch next Saturday for the first games of the season!
